Revolution Models FAQs

Application & Selection Process

When will I hear back after submitting the application?

Dancers may or may not hear back from Revolution. There’s no need to follow up—we will reach out if we decide to move forward with your application. Applications are reviewed year-round.

Can my dancer reapply if they aren’t selected this time?

Yes! We encourage dancers to reapply within 6 months to a year, as this allows us to receive updated photos and measurements while also tracking their progress in training.

What happens after my dancer’s application is selected?

Dancers will be invited to an in-person live audition if they are selected. Auditions are invite-only. Following the audition, our Model Team will then send an acceptance or denial email.

I encountered an error when submitting my dancer’s application. What should I do?

Sometimes, if a video is too large, the application will not submit. Please remove the video and then submit. You can also send the video to models@revolutiondance.com.

Auditions & Requirements

What does the in-person audition look like?

During the audition, dancers will be guided by a choreographer to show us dance poses in a variety of genres and then will be encouraged to improv in each style they train in. Besides dance technique, we are also looking for confidence, stage presence, and the ability to take direction and corrections. We will update measurements and capture photos as they pose and dance—just like a real photoshoot!

What are the age and size requirements for models?

There are no size requirements. Models’ ages can range from 3 years old to 22 years old.

Does my dancer need professional modeling experience?

No! While we do ask if dancers have experience, it is not a requirement. Models are required to inform Revolution if they are also modeling for specific companies in our industry.

Are there any specific skills or dance styles required?

We encourage dancers during the audition to show us all of their styles that they train in. The audition is the foundation of our photoshoots and relationships with your dancers. Dancers may not train in all of the styles Revolution holds photoshoots for, but this does not hurt their chances of being accepted.

Can my dancer apply if they live outside the area where the photoshoot is held?

Yes! We encourage dancers from all over the Chicagoland area to apply.

Photoshoots & Fittings

How will I know if my dancer has been selected for a photoshoot?

Models are considered for various events throughout the year, including photoshoots, fit modeling, and other opportunities. The casting process for these events occurs shortly before each one, which means that dancers may be contacted anywhere from a month to up to a year in advance. Please note that casting for specific events is not guaranteed, and there is no need to reach out to us. We will contact you!

Where are the photoshoots and fittings held?

Photoshoots are held in the Chicagoland suburbs. Additional photoshoot information (location, schedule, requirements, etc.) is to be kept confidential and will not be disclosed until final approval on casting has been given.

Are fittings required for a photoshoot?

Yes! All dancers selected for a photoshoot must attend an in-person fitting at least a week in advance of their event.

Compensation & Model Perks

Is my dancer paid for modeling?

Yes! All dancers are paid for their time when working with Revolution.

Will I get copies of the photos for my dancer’s portfolio?

Model images will be available on our website, but alternative, unretouched, or unused photos will not be released under any circumstances. However, if featured in a catalog, models can request a hard copy of the catalog after it has been released to the public.

Parent & Model Policies

Can I stay and watch during the photoshoot?

Parents may stay in the common area but are not allowed on set during the photoshoots.

Do I need to sign a release or consent form?

Yes. All dancers are required to fill out a Model Handbook and a W-9 in order to work with Revolution.

Photo Usage & Rights

How will my dancer’s photos be used?

Application and audition photos will be used for internal use only. Photography and videography taken at a photoshoot may be used for catalogs, social media, website, advertising, or any other editorial or trade purpose at Revolution's discretion.

Can I request that certain photos of my dancer not be used?

No. All photos, videos, and designs taken by Revolution are the sole property of Revolution and may be used without restriction. Models and parents do not have the right to request or limit their usage.
